Steve Jobs Died after long history of pancreatic cancer

Iphone, Ipod, Imac, Macbook, and Ipads are orphan now. Steve Jobs, Co founder, former CEO, and chairman of Apple Inc, died of pancreatic cancer on 5th October 2011, just one day after release of Apple's Iphone 4s.

  • Born: 24 February 1955
  • Birthplace: San Francisco, California
  • Best Known As: The co-founder and mastermind of Apple computers
  • Died: 5 October 2011
Steve Jobs was a college dropout when he teamed up with Steve Wozniak in 1976 to sell personal computers assembled in Jobs' garage. That was the beginning of Apple Computers, which revolutionized the computing industry and made Steve Jobs a multimillionaire before he was 30 years old. He was forced out of the company in 1985 and started the NeXT Corporation, but returned to his old company in 1996 when Apple bought NeXT. Steve Jobs soon became Apple's chief executive officer and sparked a resurgence in the company with products like the colorful iMac computer and the iPod music player. Steve Jobs is also the CEO of Pixar, the animation company responsible for movies like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. Pixar was purchased by the Walt Disney Company in 2006 for $7.4 billion in stock; the deal made Jobs the largest individual shareholder of Disney stock. Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003 and had surgery in July of 2004, and was criticized by some for not disclosing his illness to stockholders until after the fact. His health was in the news again in 2008, when his extreme weight loss sparked rumors that his cancer had recurred. Jobs refused to speak publicly about his health, but in January of 2009 he took a formal six-month leave of absence from Apple, saying that his health problems were "more complex than I originally thought." He had a liver transplant later that year and returned to work at Apple in June of 2009. In January of 2011 he again announced, without offering details, that he was taking a medical leave of absence. He resigned as Apple CEO on 24 August 2011, saying "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come." He remained with the company as Chairman of the Board.

Some sources list Los Altos, California as Steve Jobs's place of birth. However, in a 1995 oral history interview with The Smithsonian, Jobs said, "I was born in San Francisco, California, USA, planet Earth, February 24, 1955." Jobs was given up for adoption after birth and raised by his adoptive parents in Silicon Valley... His biological sister is novelist Mona Simpson, the author of Anywhere But Here... Jobs attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon for one semester in 1972 before dropping out... He married the former Laurene Powell on 18 March 1991. They have three children: Eve, Erin, and Reed. Jobs also has a daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, born in 1978 to Jobs and his then-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan.

Apple making cheap 8GB iPhone 4 for developing Countries

Apple was worried about number of low-end Android devices taking on Asian market or developing countries. They were left with no choice but to develop cheap iPhone 4 8GB models to tackle Android devices. Apple has experienced enormous growth in developed countries, but they are yet to get firm hold in developing countries. This move is probably to get recognition in Asian market and live up to the expectation of the people while not costing them much.
Cheap iPhone 4 8GB

Apple may have less profit margins, but they may get significant number of new customers with this new strategy. Steve Jobs has already visited China to understand the market and make a deal to gain the customers. China has the highest number of mobile users in the world as per report. Apple has also failed miserably to make any significant impact in Indian market as iPhone 4. Iphones are priced so high that a normal user can not even think of buying this gadget in Asian countries like Nepal and India. Apple is also said to be in talk with largest carrier on the earth China Mobile Ltd and China Telecom Corp Ltd to launch iPhone 5 and cheaper iPhone 4 8GB in China. The giant telecommunication company in Nepal "NTC" has also announced unofficially that it will provide Iphone 4 to its customers in very cheap price "NRS 15000" soon.

A lower-priced version of iPhone 4 seems to be a necessity, especially in emerging markets where the average income of individuals is much lower.

Apple may change their policy and provide low cost iPhone 4 models with minor hardware changes. Currently, it is available in 16GB and 32GB version. It will be difficult for them to lower the price to around $150-$200 for emerging countries where per head income is very less. Moreover, Apple should look to gain significant market share with this move as Nokia has lost their grip. Nokia is expected to release number of low-end devices powered by Windows Phone Mango or Tango OS.

Will You buy 8 GB Iphone 4 for NRS 15000?

#One Smart Phone Of the World so far

 Samsung Galaxy SII
The Samsung Galaxy S II is the phone the Korean firm deems the successor to its best smartphone so far. And with a 1.2GHz dual core processor, super-slim chassis and feather-light innards, it's easy to see why.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is almost impossibly thin when you pick it up – dimensions of 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm mean it's one of the thinnest smartphones on the market at the moment.

It's crazy-light too – when we show you what tech is rammed under the hood, you'll be amazed that it all goes in a device that weighs only a shade over 100g (116g, to be precise).

The other thing you'll notice when you first pick up the Galaxy S2 is the screen – at 4.3 inches it's hard to miss, and when you turn it on the Super AMOLED plus technology hits you square in the eyeballs (it's got through the toughened Gorilla Glass).

We called the Samsung Galaxy S "the best phone on the market for media" when we reviewed it, thanks to its first-gen Super AMOLED screen. Now the Galaxy S2 has definitely improved on that, with a superbly crisp and vibrant screen.

In the hand, the Galaxy S2 sits much better than we'd have expected.

Steve Jobs resigns from CEO of Apple

Steve Jobs, who founded Apple Inc (CEO), said he was unable to continue as chief executive of apple and handed the position to Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook.
Steve Jobs has spent his career challenging conventions about personal computing. He's transformed an industry and changed the way we think about technology.

Steve Jobs submitted his resignation to the board of directors on Wednesday and "strongly recommended" that the board name Mr. Cook as his successor. Mr. Jobs, 56 years old, has been elected chairman of the board and Mr. Cook will join the board.

The announcement focuses attention on the health of Mr. Jobs, who was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004 and underwent a liver transplant two years ago.
Mr. Jobs hasn't commented on it since he said in a letter in January that he was taking another leave of absence to focus on his health. He appeared thin at Apple's annual developers' conference in June.

Steve Jobs Resignation letter:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve
